Hi, I am Damien, co-owner of Strength Block and a highly experienced Strength Coach.
I have over 15 years of experience coaching people to develop maximum strength and power. This includes several competitive powerlifters, including athletes currently holding national records.
While I love and respect my competitive athletes, my main passion is introducing new people to powerlifting. While I have competed multiple times myself, the thing I enjoy the most is helping people discover how strong they can become. Most people severely underestimate their potential.
Powerlifting has a lot of gatekeeping in it's community. Many people present it as overly aggressive, most high-level coaches not wanting to work with new lifters and powerlifting gyms can be incredibly intimidating to enter.
I think this sucks. Everybody deserves the chance to become strong... and that is exactly why I wrote the Beginner Powerlifting Blueprint.
